By downloading, installing, or using SmartX PDF Scanner ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

📱 App License

What You Can Do:

• Use SmartX on your personal Apple devices
• Scan documents, photos, and text for personal or business use
• Share the App with family through Family Sharing
• Use premium features if you have an active subscription

What You Cannot Do:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App
• Distribute, rent, lease, or sell the App to others
• Use the App for illegal or unauthorized purposes
• Remove or modify any copyright notices or proprietary markings

💰 Pricing and Subscriptions

Subscription Terms:

• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends
• Payment: Charged to your iTunes Account upon purchase confirmation
• Management: Manage subscriptions in your iTunes Account Settings
• Cancellation: Cancel anytime through iTunes - no cancellation fees
• Free Trial: If offered, unused portion is forfeited upon subscription purchase

📄 Acceptable Use

Appropriate Uses:

• Scanning personal documents, receipts, business cards
• Converting printed text to digital format for personal use
• Creating PDF backups of important documents
• Educational and research purposes
• Business documentation and record keeping

Prohibited Uses:

• Scanning copyrighted material without permission
• Violating privacy by scanning others' private documents
• Creating or distributing fraudulent documents
• Any illegal activities or circumventing security measures
• Bulk commercial scanning without appropriate licensing

🛡️ Privacy and Data

SmartX operates with a strict "zero data collection" policy:

• No personal information is collected or stored
• All processing happens locally on your device
• We never see or access your scanned documents
• Cloud sync goes directly to your chosen service

⚠️ Disclaimers and Limitations

OCR Accuracy:

While SmartX strives for high OCR accuracy, we cannot guarantee 100% perfect text recognition. Users should review and verify converted text for important documents.

App Availability:

We strive to keep SmartX available 24/7, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, updates, or technical issues may temporarily affect functionality.

Limitation of Liability:

SmartX is provided "as is" without warranties. The Developer is not liable for any damages arising from app usage, including but not limited to data loss, business interruption, or accuracy of OCR results.

🔄 Updates and Modifications

We may update SmartX and these Terms of Service at any time:

• App updates may add features, fix bugs, or improve performance
• Terms updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date
• Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new terms
• Major changes may be announced via App Store update notes

🚫 Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement:

• You: Delete the app from your devices anytime
• Us: We may terminate access for terms violations
• Effect: All rights granted cease upon termination
• Survival: Privacy, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution terms survive termination

⚖️ Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the Developer is located, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved through the courts in that jurisdiction or through Apple's dispute resolution process.
